Compared to regular grocery stores, shopping at Target is great for getting consistently cheap groceries. Typically, it has food prices are twenty to forty percent lower than retail supermarket prices. Grocery stores, however, have the advantage of running bigger sales and doubling coupons. But there is an easy way to save more at Target and even get some items for free. Use this simple 3 step method to cut your grocery bill.
For example, let's say you have a manufacturer coupon for $1.00 off a 64 ounce bottle of Juicy Juice. This week, the price of Juicy Juice is say $1.99 and Target has a $1 off coupon online (which they do). You head to the store with your manufacturers' coupon and your Target printable coupon and get to apply both and the item is....Free!
- Before heading to Target, visit Target Coupons. You can get to the coupon page by clicking on "See More/Coupons" off the Target Home page. On any given day, you should find about fifty to seventy coupons. The coupons will bring down Target's already good prices to get you on par with Walmart or better. A typical coupon will be a dollar off a box of cereal, not too shabby when you consider that the regular Target price is substantially less than the $5 you pay at the grocery stores.
- Search your Sunday paper for any manufacuturers' coupons that are for the same product. If you use online manufacturers' coupons, you can print those too.
- Head to Target and find the item that you have dual coupons for. When you check out, present both coupons. Unlike the majority of retail grocers, Target allows you to use one of their online printable coupons along with a manufacturer coupon! You can read their coupon policy online. Which means if the two coupons add up to the price of the product, it is absolutely free.
In these tough times, shaving an extra 10% off your grocery bill is a good way to keep living cheap and keeping more of your money. Target is cheap, but this little strategy makes it even better.
